Begin with a decision-ready brief
Send the intended use, target customer, dimensions, compartments, material direction, logo artwork, expected quantity, packaging and target timing. Mark which details are fixed and where the factory can recommend alternatives.
Confirm sample scope before work starts
Agree whether the sample tests shape only or uses production-intent material, hardware, logo and packaging. Confirm sample charges, expected timing, included revisions, freight and the approval method in writing.
Review the sample systematically
Check measurements, capacity, access, carrying comfort, seams, reinforcement, zipper movement, hardware, logo position, labels and appearance. Photograph requested changes and update one controlled specification rather than sending disconnected messages.
Freeze the bulk-production reference
After approval, record all accepted details and any remaining differences from the first sample. Bulk materials and pre-production references should be checked against the approved direction before full production proceeds.
Hongzhao sample revision charges and factory corrections
For a customer-requested structural change without changing the bag dimensions, Hongzhao quotes USD 50–80 per revised sample, depending on construction complexity. A dimension change is charged as a new first sample. If Hongzhao has not made the sample to the confirmed requirements, the factory remakes it free of charge. Confirm the requested change and its charge before the revision starts.
Confirm the sample brief, payment and production timing
Before sampling, confirm dimensions, materials, construction and logo details, then pay the sample charge and any applicable setup or tooling charges. Logo, tooling and freight charges are charged separately; ask for their breakdown in the sample quotation. Hongzhao's usual sample-making time is 3–6 days; a project requiring tooling needs a separately confirmed schedule. Sample-making time starts after payment is received. Keep sample making, tooling, bulk production and transport as separate stages rather than treating them as one delivery promise.
Stock logo backpacks vs OEM backpacks: choose the sample route
A stock-logo route starts from an existing finished style and its available branding area; an OEM route develops against a confirmed sample or specification. These are procurement routes to compare, not a statement that Hongzhao holds every displayed style as finished stock. Ask what is available before selecting the route. For OEM or private-label backpacks, approve dimensions, device fit, compartments, materials, logo position, labels and packing together. If embroidery and printing are alternatives, review their compatibility with the actual surface and artwork before approving the logo sample.
Match the buying brief to the bag category
For Business Backpacks, specify device dimensions, compartments, padding and carrying needs. For Duffel Bags, define capacity, handle and strap attachment, and base reinforcement before sample review.
Compare Cooler Bags for larger insulated programs with Lunch Bags for individual meal carry. State the contents, dimensions, lining, cleaning needs and any insulation test requirement; a photograph alone does not establish cooling performance.
For Tote Bags, confirm fabric weight, handle drop, intended load and artwork area. Use the RFQ-to-shipment procurement guide to keep category, quantity, materials and approvals in one comparable supplier brief.
Planning a branded bulk order? Review custom business backpacks with logo for corporate and private-label programs, or custom cooler bags with logo for insulated promotional carry. Hongzhao manufactures in Shenzhen; US buyers should state the destination, quantity per style and color, and shipping scope in the brief.
